Die Werkzeuge sollten ihnen Glück bringen, solange sie zusammenhielten. So geschah es auch. Selbst als ein böser Zar seine Soldaten und einen furchtbaren Flaschengeist ausschickte, den Kindern die wundersamen Werkzeuge zu entreißen, blieben Hammer und Sichel bei ihren Eigentümern. Da ersann der Zar eine List und bot dem Mädchen die Krone. Das Mädchen verließ seinen Bruder und ging ins Schloß. Die Sichel verlor die Wunderkraft. Das Mädchen wurde in den Kerker geworfen und der Junge verjagt, nachdem man ihm den Hammer gestohlen hatte. Der Junge schmiedete ein großes Schwert und zog aus, die Schwester zu befreien. Nach vielen Mühen gelang es den Kindern, die Wunderwerkzeuge zurückzuerobern und den Zaren zu besiegen.

English SummaryTwo children once received a golden hammer and a golden sickle from a friendly woman as a reward for good work. The tools were supposed to bring them luck as long as they held together. That's what happened. Even when an evil tsar sent his soldiers and a terrible genie to snatch the wondrous tools from the children, the hammer and sickle remained with their owners. Then the Czar devised a trick and offered the girl the crown. The girl left her brother and went to the castle. The sickle lost its miraculous power. The girl was thrown into the dungeon and the boy was chased away after the hammer was stolen. The boy forged a large sword and went out to free the sister. After much effort, the children managed to recapture the miracle tools and defeat the Czar.
