The director of the film visited five women in the Democratic Republic of Vietnam who had been mentioned in old Vietnamese newsreels for their achievements and commitment. These old reports are cut into the film (which is clearly distinguished by the newly shot footage) and give the film a rare appeal and additional persuasiveness. The fields of activity of women in northern Vietnam extend up to 17 degrees latitude, including the settlement area of national minorities. This makes it possible to make both the beauties of the people and their country and the consequences of the aggressions plastic. The film is a testimony to the GDR's solidarity with the Vietnamese people.
