  • English SummaryThis black and white documentary film, which was produced on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Red October, reports on the electrification of the Soviet Union from 1917 up to the energy security of the presented five-year plan until 1970. A cityscape of Moscow is interrupted by a short historical review of the years 1917 to 1920, afterwards the extension of the hydroelectric power plants is presented longer. Further stations in the growing energy sectors are the steel and rolling mills, the automotive industry, cement factories and chemical plants. The meaning and goal of the socialist planned economy will always be recognizable as man and the maximum satisfaction of his rapidly growing material and cultural needs will be achieved through the development of key industries for the benefit of all with the diligence of the Soviet people.
