Vorgestellt werden Handwerker, Bürgermeister, Bauherren, Mitglieder des Fremdenverkehrsvereins, Ratsmitglieder und ein Querdenker der Bürgerbewegung. Sie schildern überzeugend wie sie sich den "Umbau" ihres Ortes vorstellen und wie dies umgesetzt werden könnte. Außerdem berichtet der ehemalige Leiter des Politbüro-Erholungsheimes offen über die letzten Jahrzehnte, über die Pläne das Haus als Hotel zu nutzen und über das angrenzende Gebäude des FDGB für die Werktätigen.
  • English SummaryThis colour documentary film reports about the village Dierhagen, which is on the move. The photos show us the village in the autumn dream, two years after the fall of the Wall. Many citizens have good ideas, new enterprises are founded and traditions are developed, all with the aim of making the region attractive for coming tourist streams, the conditions are there, the sea, the Bodden and a beautiful landscape. Craftsmen, mayors, building owners, members of the tourist association, council members and a lateral thinker of the citizen movement are introduced. They convincingly describe how they imagine the "reconstruction" of their place and how this could be implemented. In addition, the former director of the Politburo Recreation Home reports openly about the last decades, about the plans to use the house as a hotel and about the adjacent building of the FDGB for the working people.

Dierhagen wird mal ein absolutes...es wird mal eine gute Gemeinde werden, also auch die Umgebung. Es ist eine wunderschöne Landschaft, es wird sehr viele Leute hierher locken und es ist hier ein großer Durchlauf. Hier gibt es nur eine Straße die übers Fischland führt und die führt hier an meiner Werkstatt vorbei, und da bin ich eigentlich recht optimistisch". Es gab ja noch die zentrale Einweisung zu der Zeit, wenn auch ganz wenige da waren, verständlich, und in den Nachbarhäusern liefen Kuren in den FDGB-Heimen, und die waren eigentlich die Ersten die dann vor der Tür gestanden haben, die haben dann Sternmärsche gemacht, die kamen dann mit Kerzen an. Es waren mitunter über hundert Leute die dann vor der Tür standen und Einlass begehrten, die dann rein wollten. Wir vor Ort hatten die Anweisung keinen rein zu lassen, und ich hatte das ja dann vor Ort zu erledigen, wir haben uns dann immer so verständigt, wir haben dann eine Gruppe gewählt die dann mit hier reingegangen ist, die sich dann vor Ort alles angesehen haben, na ja, und dann sind solche Sachen entstanden dass sie hier dann in die Schwimmhalle gekommen sind von den Nachbarhäusern, das sie hier in die Sauna gekommen sind, alles die Sachen die die FDGB-Heime ja nicht hatten...". Wir möchten lieber einen individuellen Tourismus, dieser Tourismus ist natürlich dann so dass er dann natürlich auch teurer sein muß...(Wischer mit Wechsel auf Mittelbach in der Halbtotalen)...Ich hatte ja damals den Vorschlag gemacht auf der letzten öffentlichen Gemeindesitzung, und zwar fand ich das gut wie das in Kampen ist, ja, alle Häuser die vor Jahren gebaut wurden Reetgedeckt sind, mit weichem Dach also, so, und das entspricht ja unserer Region Fischland-Darß, und da habe ich gesagt, es wäre schön wenn wir einen Entschluss fassen könnten, ab jetzt, denn man kann nicht alles rückgängig machen, aber alle Häuser die in Zukunft gebaut werden das sie Reetgedeckt werden, und das wird sich nicht in 1-2 Jahren auszahlen, aber mindestens in 10-15 Jahren, das dann unsere Kinder sagen könne, oh, ist das eine schöne Gegend hier, alle Häuser nur mit Reet gedeckt". Wir haben uns denn über Wochen hinaus über die Journaille gegenseitig besprochen, sag ich mal, und das hat uns echt näher gebracht, denn seit Oktober 1990, muß ich sagen, haben wir doch ein recht gutes Einvernehmen mit dem Magistrat, mit dem Stadtparlament und auch mit dem Landrat, sodass wir dort sagen können, ja, in der Frage sind wir uns echt näher gekommen".
