  • German SummaryZwei Hände gestalten eine Scherenschnitt. Ein Schneider entsteht aus schwarzem Karton und wird in seine Papierwelt hineingestellt. Er gewinnt Leben und geht mit der Schere, die ihn formte, auf Wanderschaft. In einer kleinen Stadt erfreut er die Kinder, indem er mit seiner Zauberschere lustige Figuren für sie ausschneidet. Auch die Karrikatur der hochnäsigen Frau Bürgermeister entsteht. Diese läßt ihn aus der Stadt ausweisen. Der Schneider formt mit seiner Schere einen großen Vogel, der nachts auf dem Markplatz ein gewaltiges Ei legt. Da es nicht gelingt das Ei zu öffnen, beschließt der Rat der Stadt derjenigen Frau 500 Taler zu zahlen, die das Ei ausbrütet. Die habgierige Frau Bürgermeister übernimmt das Geschäft und brütet unter dem Gelächter der Leute den Schneider aus.   • English SummaryTwo hands make a silhouette. A tailor is made of black cardboard and is placed in his paper world. He gains life and goes on wanderings with the scissors that formed him. In a small town he delights the children by cutting out funny figures for them with his magic scissors. Also the caricature of the snobbish woman mayor emerges. She has him expelled from the city. The tailor forms a big bird with his scissors, which lays a huge egg on the market place at night. Since it is not possible to open the egg, the city council decides to pay 500 thalers to the woman who hatches the egg. The greedy mayor takes over the business and hatches the tailor, laughing at the people. In the triumphal procession he is carried through the streets while the mayor leaves the city on a donkey.
