1935 in Moskau hält Georgi Dimitroff auf einer Tagung der Kommunistischen Internationale seine Rede mit dem Aufruf zur Einheitsfront aller fortschrittlichen Kräfte. In Rückblenden werden Stationen seines Lebens dargestellt, ergänzt durch Zeitdokumente. Der Abschied von seiner Lebensgefährtin, als er nach der Niederlage des bulgarischen Aufstands 1923 ins Exil gehen muß. Leben in der Illegalität, Begegnungen mit Thälmann und anderen Genossen in vielen Ländern, wo er den Kampf gegen den Faschismus unterstützt. Vorbereitung einer Friedenskonferenz in Amsterdam und schließlich der Reichstagsbrandprozeß, in dem er einen Sieg gegen die faschistischen Machthaber Deutschlands erringt und sie vor der Weltöffentlichkeit bloßstellt.

In 1935 in Moscow Georgi Dimitroff delivered his speech at a meeting of the Communist International calling for a united front of all progressive forces. In flashbacks, stations of his life are depicted, supplemented by contemporary documents. Farewell to his partner when he had to go into exile after the defeat of the Bulgarian uprising in 1923. Life in illegality, meetings with Thälmann and other comrades in many countries where he supports the struggle against fascism. Preparation of a peace conference in Amsterdam and finally the Reichstag fire process, in which he wins a victory against the fascist rulers of Germany and exposes them to the world public.
