German SummaryDer sechsjährige Florian, genannt Flo, lebt zur Zeit allein mit seinem Vater, einem NVA-Offizier, in Burgstadt. Die Mutter ist zum Studium in Berlin. Mit seiner Kindergartengruppe will er sich an der Maidemonstration beteiligen, und er ist der verantwortliche "Kommandeur" für die Vorbereitung. Plötzlich wird der Vater nach Berlin abkommandiert, um dort an der Maiparade mitzuwirken. Flo fühlt sich alleingelassen, ist traurig, richtet Schaden im Kindergarten an und schämt sich dafür, besonders vor seiner Freundin Fanni. Er will zum Vater, rückt aus und schleicht sich als blinder Passagier auf einen Elbkahn. Dort wird er entdeckt und erfährt, daß der Kahn gar nicht nach Berlin fährt. Dafür bringt ihn die Polizei nach Berlin. Dort nehmen ihn die Eltern in Empfang, und seine Freunde sind auch da.

English SummaryThe six-year-old Florian, called Flo, currently lives alone with his father, an NVA officer, in Burgstadt. The mother is in Berlin to study. With his kindergarten group he wants to take part in the maiden demonstration and he is the responsible "commander" for the preparation. Suddenly the father is detached to Berlin to participate in the May Parade. Flo feels abandoned, sad, causes damage in kindergarten and is ashamed of it, especially in front of his girlfriend Fanni. He wants to see his father, moves out and sneaks onto an Elbe barge as a stowaway. There he is discovered and learns that the barge does not go to Berlin at all. The police are taking him to Berlin. His parents welcome him there, and his friends are there too.
