German SummaryDie Geschwister Matti und Jule streiten sich im Wald, und Matti läßt seine kleine Schwester allein im Schnee zurück. Sie wird vom Eisriesen entführt. Das schlechte Gewissen läßt Matti nicht schlafen, er macht sich mit seiner Mutter, den beiden Hasen Karl und Nickel, dem Raben Jacob, der Uhr, dem Federbett und der Birke auf die Suche nach Jule. Matti findet sie, zu Eis geworden, im Palast des Eisriesen. Dieser bemächtigt sich auch seines Herzens und läßt es erstarren. Der Rabe bittet die Sonne um drei Strahlen und kann damit das Herz Mattis und auch die kleine Jule wiederbeleben.

English SummaryThe siblings Matti and Jule quarrel in the forest, and Matti leaves his little sister alone in the snow. She's being kidnapped by the ice giant. Matti's guilty conscience doesn't let him sleep, he sets off with his mother, the two rabbits Karl and Nickel, the raven Jacob, the watch, the duvet and the birch to search for Jule. Matti finds her, turned to ice, in the palace of the ice giant. He also seizes his heart and lets it freeze. The raven asks the sun for three rays and can thus revive the heart of Matthis and also little Jule.
