Darin befinden sich auch Kriminal`schmöcker´, u.a. "Die Nacht des Grauens". Er liest und liest in allen Lebenslagen, auch im Bett. Im Traum erlebt er die Story mit ihm bekannten Personen und erwacht, als Frau Plumper und Renate, durch seine Hilfeschreie geweckt, neben ihm stehen. Letztere hat nur noch einen bedauernden Blick für ihn übrig, als sie den Grund erkennt. Nun sieht er sich veranlaßt, das Heft zu zerreißen.
