German SummaryIm Städtchen Pritzelwitz gibt es einen Schülerbelobigungsautomaten, der für jede Note Eins eine Mark ausspuckt. Viele Kinder kassieren fleißig ihre Belohnung, nur Paul geht leer aus, denn Lernen ist nicht sein Ding. Seine Freunde bemühen sich, ihm wenigstens in Musik zu einer Eins zu verhelfen. Das gelingt auch, doch als Paul die erste Mark in der Tasche hat, verzaubert sie ihn. Sie gaukelt ihm vor, daß er mit Betrug zu guten Zensuren kommen kann. Die Freunde merken bald, daß da etwas nicht stimmt und befreien Paul von dem bösen Zauber.

English SummaryIn the small town of Pritzelwitz there is an automatic student commendation machine that spits out a mark for every note one. Many children collect their reward diligently, only Paul gets nothing, because learning is not his thing. His friends try to at least help him get an A in music. This also succeeds, but when Paul has the first mark in his pocket, she enchants him. She pretends he can get good grades with fraud. The friends soon realize that something is wrong and free Paul from the evil spell.
