In Moskau verbindet sich die Feier zum ersten Jahrestag der Oktoberrevolution mit der Freude über die Nachricht von der Novemberrevolution in Deutschland. Der ehemalige Kriegsgefangene Kurt ist unter jenen, die auf der deutschen Botschaft die rote Fahne hissen. Die Moskauer haben beschlossen, trotz der eigenen Not den hungernden Klassenbrüdern Brot zu schicken. Die Komsomolzin Tanja begleitet die Solidaritätsspende, und im Zug sieht sie den heimkehrenden Kurt, der ihr schon zweimal begegnet ist, wieder. Zwischen ihnen entsteht eine starke Zuneigung. An der Grenze wird der Zug von konterrevolutionären deutschen Truppen überfallen. Es kommt zum Kampf, das wertvolle Brot wird vernichtet, Tanja schwer verwundet. Sie muß nach Moskau zurückgebracht werden. Kurt geht nach Berlin, um an der Seite der Revolutionäre zu kämpfen.

In Moscow, the celebration of the first anniversary of the October Revolution combines with the joy of the news of the November Revolution in Germany. The former prisoner of war Kurt is among those who hoist the red flag at the German embassy. The Muscovites have decided to send bread to the starving class brothers in spite of their own need. Komsomol actress Tanja accompanies the solidarity donation, and in the train she sees Kurt returning home, who she has already met twice, again. A strong affection develops between them. At the border, the train is attacked by counterrevolutionary German troops. There is a battle, the precious bread is destroyed, Tanja is badly wounded. She must be brought back to Moscow. Kurt goes to Berlin to fight alongside the revolutionaries.

Original SummaryDurante i festeggiamenti per il primo anniversario della rivoluzione d'ottobre, Mosca apprende con gioia della rivoluzione di novembre in Germania. L'ex prigioniero di guerra Kurt è uno di quelli che all'ambasciata tedesca issano la bandiera rossa.
