  • German SummaryKurt, Lehrling in einem Fischkombinat, ist ein ehrgeiziger Einzelgänger. Bei einer Regatta will er zeigen, was für ein guter Seemann er ist, scheitert aber an seinem Leichtsinn und dem Sturm. Enttäuscht sucht er bei dem Mädchen Anke Zuneigung, doch die liebt den Lehrling Hannes. Bei einer gemeinsamen Fahrt mit Kapitän Laue, der sich Kurt gegenüber als väterlicher Freund gibt, kommt es zwischen den Jungen zum Streit. Als Laue jedoch unplanmäßg Bornholm ansteuert und Kurt herausbekommt, daß Laue Fang und Ausrüstung des Kutters verkaufen und fliehen will, begräbt er seine Differenzen mit Hannes.   • English SummaryKurt, an apprentice in a fish combine, is an ambitious loner. In a regatta he wants to show what a good sailor he is, but fails because of his carelessness and the storm. Disappointed, he seeks the girl Anke's affection, but she loves Hannes, the apprentice. During a joint trip with Captain Laue, who presents himself to Kurt as a fatherly friend, the boys quarrel. But when Laue makes an unscheduled trip to Bornholm and Kurt finds out that Laue wants to sell the cutter's catch and equipment and flee, he buries his differences with Hannes.
