German SummaryIm kleinen Dorf Hinrichsfelde lebt der 11jährige Kaule, ein aufgeweckter Junge mit großem Unternehmungsgeist. Doch irgendwie schafft er es immer, daß seine gutgemeinten Aktionen den anderen nicht zur Freude geraten. Die Komplikationen mehren sich, als der neue Zootechniker Hollnagel mit seiner Tochter Karola ins Dorf kommt. Karola ist das schönste Mädchen, das Kaule je sah, und sie ist so alt wie er. Er möchte ihr gefallen und macht wieder alles falsch. In seiner Verzweiflung erweist sich ihr Vater aber als verständnisvoll. Kaule kann sein Herz ausschütten, was seinen Kummer lindert.

English SummaryIn the small village of Hinrichsfelde lives the 11-year-old Kaule, a bright boy with a great spirit of enterprise. But somehow he always manages that his well-intentioned actions don't make the others happy. The complications increase when the new zoo technician Hollnagel comes to the village with his daughter Karola. Karola is the most beautiful girl Kaule has ever seen, and she is as old as he is. He wants to please her and makes everything wrong again. In his despair, however, her father proves to be understanding. Kaule can pour out his heart, which soothes his sorrow.
